Keyboard shortcuts

All of HappyVibe’s shortcuts, on one page. Most are yours to change: “Click a shortcut to record a new one. Esc cancels.”

Shortcuts use ⌘ on macOS and Ctrl on Windows and Linux. The screen shows the keys for the computer you’re on.

App features → Keyboard shortcuts in the sidebar. You can also press ⌘/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows and Linux.

“Yours to change — stored on this machine.” Each action shows its current keys. A shortcut you’ve changed gets a Reset button beside it. Reset all to defaults puts every shortcut back.

These are the defaults:

Action macOS Windows and Linux
New session in the current workspace ⌘N Ctrl+N
New terminal in the current workspace ⌘T Ctrl+T
New browser in the current workspace ⌘B Ctrl+B
New worktree in the current project ⌘⇧T Ctrl+Shift+T
Close the active tab ⌘W Ctrl+W
Save the open file ⌘S Ctrl+S
Search the conversation or the open file ⌘F Ctrl+F
Find a session in the sidebar ⌘K Ctrl+K
Show or hide the workspace panel ⌘\ Ctrl+\
Show or hide the files panel ⌘⇧E Ctrl+Shift+E
Show or hide the Changes panel ⌘⇧G Ctrl+Shift+G
Open Settings ⌘, Ctrl+,
Open keyboard shortcuts ⌘/ Ctrl+/

A worktree is a second copy of your project’s files, on its own branch, in its own folder, so an agent can work there without touching what you have open.

“Typing and dialog behaviour — not rebindable.” These are marked built-in. They’re listed so the page is a complete map, but changing them would break typing.

Action Keys
Send the message Enter
New line in the composer ⇧Enter on macOS, Shift+Enter on Windows and Linux
Reference a file or folder in the composer @
Close a dialog or search Esc
Dictate into the composer (tap to keep recording) Hold right ⌘ on macOS, right Ctrl on Windows and Linux

In this list, the composer is the message box.

  1. Click the keys next to the action. The button pulses and says “press…”.
  2. Press the new combination: ⌘ on macOS or Ctrl on Windows and Linux, plus a key, with Shift or Alt too if you like. Without ⌘ or Ctrl the button keeps waiting, because Shift or Alt on its own would take over normal typing. (On macOS, Ctrl counts as ⌘. On Windows and Linux, the Windows key counts as Ctrl.)
  3. The new shortcut saves straight away and keeps working after a restart.

Changed your mind halfway? Press Esc, and the old shortcut stays.

Two actions can’t share keys. If you press a combination another action uses, nothing changes and the screen tells you which action has it, for example: ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) is already used by “Find a session in the sidebar”. Give the other action new keys first, or pick a different combination.

The same check applies to Reset: if another action now holds the default keys, the screen says so and leaves both as they are.

  • For one shortcut, click its Reset button.
  • For all of them, click Reset all to defaults.

The app shows the keys you’ve chosen, not the defaults. The tab strip’s + menu, for example, lists your keys next to New session, New terminal and New browser, and tooltips like “Find a session” and the editor’s Save name them too.

  • Voice: the dictation key, and how holding and tapping differ.
  • Terminal: what New terminal opens.
